Originally I am from California and attended high school in Columbus, Ohio. I graduated with my BS in Chemistry from Hampton University in 2006. My undergraduate research was in environmental analytical chemistry on the heavy metal affinity to biosolids with Dr. Isai Urasa. After graduation, I moved to Washington, DC and started working at the National Science Foundation as a Science Assistant for the Chemistry Division. My duties here are to assist in managing some of the programs in the Chemistry Division and to educate the general public on what the Chemistry Division is doing and the importance of chemistry. I have recently started a research project at the University of Maryland College Park working with Brian Eichhorn and Luis Echegoyen. My plan is to pursue a PhD in the near future. In the meantime I plan events, fundraisers, play tennis, work out and volunteer in the community.
