Dorothy (Dotti) Miller

Hi, my name is Dorothy Miller, but I have gone by Dotti nearly my entire life. I have been active in the ACS and the YCC since 2006, when I formalized the Graduate Student Symposium Planning Committee (GSSPC). The GSSPC allows graduate students from universities around the US to plan and run a symposium at an ACS National Meeting. Since 2006, there have been two successful GSSPC events and symposia are planned through 2009. In the ACS National Younger Chemists Committee, I serve as the webmaster and on the Communication and Society Interface and Outreach subcommittees.
I received my PhD in physical chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in December of 2007. While at UIUC, I investigated competition and cooperation between non-covalent interactions in gas-phase cluster ions using vibrational spectroscopy and ab initio calculations under the tutelage of Prof. James Lisy. I am currently a Christine Mirzayan Science & Technology Policy Graduate Fellow at the National Academies.
