Malika

Malika Jeffries-El is a native of Brooklyn, New York. She received a bachelor's degree in chemistry in 1996 from Wellesley College. She earned her doctorate in chemistry at The George Washington University in 2002. Jeffries-El was a Mendenhall Fellow at Smith College (2000-2001) and she then worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Carnegie Mellon University under the direction of Richard McCullough (2002–2005). She is now an Assistant Professor at Iowa State University. Dr. Jeffries-El’s research interest is in the area of conjugated polymers. Outside of the lab she is actively involved in the American Chemical Society as a member of the Younger Chemists Committee (2002-present), Joint Subcommittee on Diversity (2006-present) and the Graduate Education Advisory Board (2003-2007).
