Carl (Burt) Hollandsworth

Burt is originally from Bassett, Virginia. He studied chemistry as an undergraduate at Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia and graduated in 1999. In 2005, he obtained a Ph.D. in Chemistry from The Ohio State University working with Prof. Malcolm H. Chisholm. After postdoctoral work with Prof. Rick Adams at the University of South Carolina he accepted an assistant professorship at Harding University in Searcy, AR, where he teaches general and inorganic chemistry.
He has a wife, Heather, who is also a chemist and works at Harding University as a lab technician. They have one child, William, who was born in July of 2007. Burt enjoys racquetball, golf, and traveling. He is also the current Chair of Long Range Planning for the Central Arkansas Section of the ACS.
