Shanadeen

Ya'a'teeh, (Hello,) Shandiin Beyet yinishye. (my name is Shanadeen Begay.) Kinthlachiinii ei nishthli doo thanazhanii bashishchiin (I am Red House clan born for Tangle People.) This is a Navajo introduction and I'd like to thank you for your interest in the YCC! My affiliation with ACS began when I became an ACS Scholar as a chemistry undergraduate junior in Flagstaff, AZ. The "official" ACS journey began in 2004; since then I have been actively combining my love of chemistry and my cultural heritage. Promoting awareness about the uniqueness of minority chemists is what has kept me interested in the ACS organization and has allowed me to continue my growth professionally. My academic studies are currently focused on simulating protein folding and modifying source code in CHARMM. I work in a great lab with Professor Thomas Keyes at Boston University and get to test out my research independence and develop my teaching skills. If you would like to learn more about what I do or how to interact with the YCC, feel free to email me (scbegay bu.edu) and ask lots of questions!
