GUIDELINES FOR BULGRIN AWARD

1. Purpose
The purpose of the award is to recognize outstanding teaching of chemistry by a Wyoming high school teacher.
2. Nature
The award will consist of a cash prize, the exact amount to be determined by the Awards Committee, and a plaque carrying the inscription shown below.

3. Publicity
Notice of the availability of the award will be sent to all Wyoming Section ACS members, Wyoming high school chemistry teachers, high school principals, and posted on the Section Web Site.
4. Eligibility
Any Wyoming high school science teacher who has taught high school chemistry for at least two years is eligible for the award.
5. Application/Nomination
Nominations for the award may be made by the Section High School Liaison Committee, any member of the Wyoming Section, or by any high school teacher or administrator. Individual teachers may apply on their own. Nominees/Applicants will be asked to submit an application including a vita(e). Three letters of recommendation will be required. Consideration will be given to such activities as participation in the Chemistry Olympiad, National Chemistry Week, the State Science Fair, professional workshops, and to other evidence of teaching excellence.
6. Deadline
All nominations and applications should be received by the Awards Committee by April 1.
7. Selection
Applications will be reviewed by the Awards Committee of the Wyoming Section which shall forward its recommendation to the Executive Committee of the Wyoming Section for final action.
8. Presentation
The formal presentation of the award will be made at the Annual Wyoming Section Spring Awards Banquet. The awardee will be invited to attend the banquet. If unable to attend the award materials will be mailed to the recipient.
9. Other
The winner of the Wyoming Section High School Chemistry Teacher Award will be considered for the Section’s next nominee for the appropriate (Either Rocky Mountain or Northwest) ACS Regional High School Chemistry Teacher Award.
