 Earth Day 2009

held at the Santa Ana Library
on April 28, 2009
Over 100 children, parents, and volunteers filled the Santa Ana Library conference room on April 28, 2009 celebrating Earth Day. The theme for this year was Air - The Sky’s the Limit.
Mrs. Phuong Vu wowed the crowd with many spectacular demos illustrating air pressure and carbon dioxide production.
The children worked on four different gas related hands-on activities under the supervision of volunteer students from Phuong Vu’s Early College high School and Sanda Sun’s Saddleback College chemistry classes.
Vanilla and chocolate ice cream instantly made with liquid nitrogen was enjoyed by everyone at the end of 90 minute program.
Appreciation is due to Dr. Richard Deming of CSUF, Dr. James Wright, Warren Ansaldo, & Sarah Sheybani of Saddleback College, and Dr. Mario Mikula of ConAgra Foods, for their support with the supplies necessary for a successful event.
