The section held a technical meeting on April 3rd, 2004 at Carroll College in Helena Montana. Section members and student affiliates presented a number of papers. $500 travel awards were made to the best undergraduate and graduate presentations.

Sept 28-29 2004 at the University of Montana Biological Station on Flathead Lake. This meeting was organized as part of the annual fall meeting to gather all Montana ACS members in an informal atmosphere. Families were welcomed and invited to the fall social. An executive meeting was held at the end of the conference to discuss all local section business affairs. Our guest speakers from the Big Sky brewery in Missoula, Montana gave a technical presentation including 'hands-on' testing of good and bad products that entertained and engaged the audience.

ACS Display Table at MSTA Conference |

October 23, 2004 in Helena, Montana. The local ACS section displayed a table of pamphlets, freebies, and catalogs informing K-12 teachers about National Chemistry Week which (conflicted in a short week in the Montana K-12 academic schedule). Two officers were present all day to coordinate the needs of science teachers and the offerings the ACS may provide. Door prizes for the MSTA luncheon were in part provided by the Montana ACS section.
