Activity #1

a)	Title:
b)	Description (please limit to one paragraph):	The section held a technical meeting on March 3, 2001 at Montana Tech, Butte. Section members and student affiliates presented 16 papers. Two $500 travel awards were presented to the best grad. student presentation and the best undergraduate student presentation. Dr. Richard Friary presented a talk on jobs in the drug industry.

Activity #2

a)	Title
b)	Description (Please limit to one paragraph)	Our annual Fall Social was held on Sept. 22 at Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park. After the Executive committe meeting, a talk and hands-on demonstration was presented by Dr. Grant Mitman, biology faculty at Montana Tech, on the making of wine from fruits and vegetables. The talk was quite entertaining and was followed by a tasting of many different wines made from various fruits or vegetables (including pumpkin!). Excellent hors d'oeurves were also served.

Activity #3

a)	Title
b)	Description Please limit to one paragraph	The student affilitate groups at both Montana State University and Montana Tech were quite active this year in presenting chemical demonstrations to local schools. The MSU group also held fundraisers (selling mugs, steins, go-cups, model kits and safety glasses) to raise funds to send a student to a chemistry meeting.
