c)	Description (please limit to one paragraph):	The section held a technical meeting on April 8 at Montana Tech. Eleven papers were presented by faculty and students from Montana Tech and Montana State University. The Student Affiliates of the ACS at Montana Tech gave a presentation entitled "Teaching Chemistry Through Demonstrations." Travel grants in the amount of $500 each were awarded to the best presentation by an undergraduate student and by a graduate student.

c)	Description (please limit to one paragraph):	The section held its annual Fall Social at the University of Montana Biological Research Station at Yellow Bay on September 30. Mr. Brad Robinson of Big Sky Brewing was the featured speaker, presenting a talk on the art and science of brewing beer. Sampling of microbrews and an hors d'oeurve dinner were also included.

Out local section web site serves at both a general information archive and newsletter.
