Local Sections Celebrate 100 Years
In 2008, three local sections will celebrate their 100-year anniversary: Eastern New York, Louisville, and Milwaukee.
Local sections are to be congratulated for the critical role they play in positively influencing the public’s perception of chemistry and its practitioners. They provide outreach and educational programs for both their local and scientific communities and network opportunities for local chemists.
Although 100 years is a major milestone, let’s not forget the 169 other sections that have reached a 10-, 25-, 50-, or 75-year milestone, including 26 that have surpassed the 100-year mark!
