Teleconference on Best Practices To Be Held April 20

Find answers to these questions and more in a teleconference on “best practices”, scheduled for Thursday, April 20, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. This teleconference is part of a series of teleconferences related to the management of your local section which will allow you to learn from the experience of your peers.

The format of the teleconference is simple. Three to four speakers each give a brief presentation describing an event or activity that their respective local section has successfully conducted over the past 12 months. Then, participants have an opportunity to ask questions or to obtain additional information about planning, conducting, financing, and evaluating the program. Usually 30–50 local section leaders participate in the teleconference. Members of the Local Section Activities Committee (LSAC) and staff of the Office of Local Section Activities (OLSA) also participate.

There is no cost to the local section leader. E-mail invitations are sent to the chairs and chairs-elect of the 189 local sections several weeks ahead of the teleconference to specify the theme, date, and time of call. Sign up by responding to the e-mail, and simply call the toll-free number with which you are provided to participate.

Throughout the rest of the year—every 2 or 3 months—OLSA and the LSAC will be offering teleconferences on various topics, so keep an eye on for news of upcoming teleconferences. OLSA and LSAC hope you will use these opportunities to continue to grow as a local section leader!
