National Chemistry Week Governor's

MARTIN, Tenn., Oct. 16, 2007 – Governor proclaims Chemistry
Week in
Tennessee – Recognizing that the American Chemical Society is
the largest scientific organization in the world, with six of the
local sections located in
Tennessee, that the Tennessee local sections have won more
Innovative Projects Grants from the the ACS activities committee
than any other state and collaborate in numerous education, outreach
and service activities, that several Student Affiliates of ACS
(SAACS) chapters in
Tennessee have been awarded high ratings and grants by the
Society Committee on Chemical Education and Green Chemistry
Institute,
Gov. Phil Bredesen proclaimed the week of Oct. 21-27 as
Chemistry Week in
Tennessee. Visiting with the governor at this occasion were
several local section representatives and SAACS officers. They are,
