Three member committee tasked to nominate and confer all awards given by the section including National, Regional, and Local Awards. The chairman and other members are selected by the Section Chairman.  Geographical balance is considered when appointing committee members.
ACS National Awards

James Bryant Conant Award - Applications available in September from ACS headquarters.  Recognizes outstanding High School Chemistry teaching. 

National Medal of Technology - Applications available in January from ACS Headquarters.  Awarded to U.S. Citizens or companies by the President of the US based on contributions to the promotion of technology or manpower

National Inventors Hall of Fame - Applications available in January from ACS Headquarters.  Awarded to U.S.  patent holders and is based on contributions to national welfare while promoting science and the useful arts.
Special Local Section Awards

Howard Huyck Outstanding High School Chemistry Teacher Award - recognizes an outstanding high school chemistry teacher in the Kentucky Lake Section geographical area.  Award includes a plaque/certificate and cash stipend (currently $250) and nomination for the SERMACS Outstanding Teacher award.  Awarded each November. Winners

Regional Science Fair Awards - awarded for the project that best demonstrates the ACS vision of "Improving People's Lives through the Transforming Power or chemistry"  Award includes a plaque/certificate and certificate redeemable for a $100 US Savings Bond.  Winners 


Outstanding Contribution to Chemistry by an Industrial Chemist Award - recognizes an outstanding industrial chemist for contributions to chemistry.  Award includes a plaque/certificate and cash stipend (1994 amount = $100).  Awarded each February.
