The Green Mountain Local Section Chemistry Cruise

One of the highlights of our 2005 program was a evening of activities focused around Lake Champlain. We started with a lecture given by Sawn Good from the Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife. Sawn provided an overview of management and research activities on Lake Champlain. His description of the chemical control methods used against Sea Lampreys - a particularly viscious invasive species - was of particular interest. After the lecture we boarded "The Spirit of Ethan Allen" for the Chemistry Cruise including a lobster and steak dinner followed by drinks on the deck watching the sun set over the Adirondak mountains. This event was "water" in the 2005 theme.
