Student Symposium and Awards Banquet
The annual Student Symposium will be held at the
University of Connecticut, Chemistry Building*, on Saturday, April 24, 2004.
Undergraduate students will present talks and posters on their research from 9
am to 12 noon. We encourage section members to attend the morning symposium and
discover some of the exciting work that has been occupying undergraduates in
our Section. At the end of the presentations, we will have tours of the UConn
research labs and the Chemistry Building.
The Awards Banquet will immediately follow the morning
symposium in Shippee Hall*. We will recognize high school students chosen to
take the National Olympiad Exam based on their high scores in the ACS/CVS
Olympiad. We will also recognize graduating college seniors chosen by their
chemistry and chemical engineering departments to receive the ACS Award for top
achievement at their institutions. In addition, we will honor 50‑year ACS
members in the CVS section. All members are welcome to attend the Banquet (cost
$10.00).
