John Stock to Receive Donor Appreciation Award from Chemical Heritage Foundation

John T. Stock, professor emeritus at UConn, will receive CHF’s first Donor Appreciation Award this year.  Holder of two doctorates (analytical chemistry and science), he came to UConn in 1956, and after many outstanding years of teaching analytical chemistry, retired in 1979 from teaching.  He remains an active scholar in the history of chemistry, both in Connecticut and at the London Science Museum, where he is an honorary fellow.  In the last 25 years he has published three books and about 70 articles and made 40 oral presentations at national ACS meetings, all on the history of chemistry.  In 1992 he received the ACS Dexter Award for Outstanding Contributions to the History of Chemistry.  Through his long, distinguished career, he has published more than 300 papers and several books and monographs on various scientific topics.
