with area children Abstract: Kids & Chemistry is a
program sponsored by the American Chemical Society. It provides resources and training for scientists to do
hands-on chemistry activities with elementary school children. One component of Kids & Chemistry
is a collection of safety-tested chemistry kits for scientists and students
to use in the classroom. We will be inviting
members of Student Affiliates groups throughout the Connecticut Valley
Section to participate in this workshop which includes training in the
morning and practice (with area elementary school children) in the
afternoon. Section members are
invited to attend the luncheon and learn more about this ACS program, as well
as other outreach activities being done in the region. You are invited to observe the
afternoon activities if you have children or grandchildren who would like to
participate in the afternoon program please let us know! It should be a fun
activity for children. While we want offer the
Kids & Chemistry training program to SAACS undergraduates, there may be
some slots open for senior scientists who are interested in this type of
activity. If you would like to
participate full workshop, let us know and we will add you to the workshop
list on a space available basis. For reservations, contact
Arthur Dimock: cost of the luncheon will
