Nominations for the 2005 Outstanding High School
Chemistry
Teaching Award (June 1, 2005 deadline)
We are currently seeking nominations for the CVS Outstanding High School Chemistry Teaching Award for 2005. The recipient must be a chemistry teacher in the area served by CVS, namely the four counties in western Massachusetts, and all of Connecticut except Fairfield and New Haven counties. Nominations may be submitted by colleagues, administrators, students or parents. The criteria for the award are as follows:
Quality of teaching
Ability to challenge and inspire students
Extracurricular work in chemistry
Willingness to keep up-to-date in the field
If you know of a teacher whom you feel qualifies for this award, you are invited to send a nomination in the form of a letter addressing these criteria to the chair of the award committee:

The award will be presented at a dinner meeting of the section and will consist of a plaque and $500, $250 of which may be used for continuing education and the rest for classroom supplies.
