Committee Seeks Nominees for the 2005 John S. Burlew Connecticut Valley Section
Award Highlighting Outstanding Contribution to Chemistry
The CVS award committee solicits nominations for the John S. Burlew Connecticut Valley Section Award to recognize an outstanding contribution(s) to chemistry. All members of the CVS are eligible. A nominee must have made an outstanding contribution to chemistry. The nominee must be a member of CVS and must not have received an award from ACS or other technical or scientific organizations for the same contribution(s). In addition to a plaque, the recipient of this award receives $1000.
Please make a nomination consisting of a short letter describing the nominee's qualifications, a chemistry vitae, and names and addresses of two references familiar with the nominee's cited contribution. Self-nominations are encouraged. A request for further information regarding suitable nominees will be made, if necessary, to help the Committee in the final selection process. Nominations should be sent by May 1, 2005 to the current chair of the Burlew Award Committee: Dr. Guy Crundwell, Associate Professor of Chemistry, Central Connecticut State University, New Britain, CT, 06050.
