Obituaries

 

Dr. F. Peter Boettcher, of Florence, MA, died in Spring 2004.  He joined ACS in 1976 and became a CVS member in 1995.

 

Roscoe A. Pike, research scientist at United Technologies Research Center, died Jan. 6th at age 78.  He was born in Calais, Maine, and served in the Army Signal Corps in World War II.  He received a PhD in organic chemistry from MIT.  Prior to joining UTRC, Dr. Pike held positions at Union Carbide, Tonawanda, NY, and Norton Co. in Worcester, MA.  He joined ACS in 1950.

 

William E. Stieg, of Uncasville, CT, died in Spring 2004.  He joined ACS/CVS in 1943 and was a 61-year member.
