November 2-4, 2007
2007 Division Summit and P2C2

Who Should Attend:

The Division Summit is designed to engage division leaders in discussions about the role of divisions within ACS, and the experience of being a division leader. If the current chair is unable to attend, he/she is asked to designate another officer to represent the division.

The Program Planning and Coordination Conference (P2C2) is a training opportunity for incoming program chairs to learn the intricacies of the OASYS abstract submission system, as well as important information about the planning and logistics arrangements needed to produce successful symposia.

Location of Events:

Saddlebrook Resort and Conference Center, Wesley Chapel, FL (30 miles north of Tampa)

Expenses Covered by ACS:

ACS will cover the travel costs (airfare, hotel, travel to and from the airport) for one division member to attend the P2C2 training, as well as a separate division member to attend the Summit. As the events run concurrently, one division representative can’t effectively cover both programs that weekend in Tampa. Divisions who wish to send more than one representative to each event may do so, but at division expense. If you wish to send additional representatives, please contact division@acs.org for details on the charges for the additional registrants. Both events (P2C2 and Summit) will start on Friday, November 2 at 6 p.m. with a reception, and will conclude at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, November 4.

November 2-4, 2007
MPPG Steering Committee

The Steering Committee of the Multidisciplinary Programming Planning Group (MPPG) will meet for the first time in Florida, in conjunction with the Division Summit and P2C2.

The 12-member committee is comprised of: representatives from DAC, M&E, ComSci; representatives from the divisions with the greatest session attendance and programming at recent national meetings (INOR, ORGN, MEDI, COLL, POLY); and division representatives elected by the MPPG at the meeting in Boston (ANYL, CINF, PETR, TECH).
