Facility Design/Construction

The ACS Committee on Chemical Safety does not have any specific guidelines on facility construction, but there are some good sources of information available as follows:

Probably is the best is Project Kaleidoscope, http://www.pkal.org/ , which has an entire section devoted to facilities.

The Handbook of Chemical Health and Safety, Edited by Robert J. Alaimo and co-published by ACS and Oxford University Press has several chapters on laboratory design and construction.

The National Research Council has also published a book on Lab design and construction, "Laboratory Design, Construction, and Renovation: Participants, Process and Product". Go to their web site, http://www.nap.edu/ and you can enter the first couple of words from the title in the "Search All Titles" Box to get ordering information, and even view the book online.

Flinn Scientific also has a section on Lab Design, http://www.flinnsci.com/homepage/lindex.html.
