Awards and Honoring of 50 and 60 years members following the dinner

The Awardees are:

Dr. Aris Merijanian, 50-year member of the ACS
Mr. Billy Bethel Ferguson, 60-year member of the ACS.
Chemistry Olympiad finalists (names posted on Announcements & Events page after the meeting)
Chemistry Teacher of the year- Bryan Rosenstiel, Hoover High School (see listing of all winners since 1990)

7:00 PM talk by Dr. Tracy P. Hamilton, Associate Professor, Univ. of Alabama at Birmingham

CHEMISTRY OF COFFEE

This promises to be an excellent general interest talk. Click here for an abstract of the talk and here for a biosketch of Dr. Hamilton.

The meeting starts with dinner at 6:00 pm. Dinner is free to all of those who notify Tracy Hamilton at hamilton@uab.edu or (205) 934-8956 by Monday, May 11,, so that we may arrange for catering. Dinner will be in the University Dining Facility, and parking is available in the parking lot on the corner of 9th Avenue South and 16th Street South.
