Upcoming Activities: 2009-2010

• National Historic Chemical Landmark at NIH

  On the recommendation of CSW, the ACS has designated the work by Marshall Nirenberg and his co-workers in the 1960s on Deciphering the Genetic Code as a National Historic Chemical Landmark.

  Dr. Thomas Lane, President of the ACS, presented a bronze plaque recognizing this accomplishment to the National Institutes of Health at a ceremony concluding a day-long symposium, GENES TO PROTEINS: DECODING GENETIC INFORMATION, on November 12 at NIH.
  
  The entire symposium and the award ceremony is now available as a videocast.
