Chair's Message

Hello...Welcome to the Texas Coastal Bend Section Home Page. We are a local chapter of the American Chemical Society located on the central gulf coast of Texas around Victoria. This group promotes public awareness of chemistry by being involved in outreach programs in our community and works with students to encourage an interest in the chemical sciences.

The American Chemical Society was founded in 1876 and is a nonprofit organization. It is the world's largest scientific society and has a membership of more than 159,000 chemists and chemical engineers. The American Chemical Society was chartered by a 1937 Act of the U.S. Congress. The Society is recognized as a world leader in fostering scientific education and research, and promoting public understanding of science.
