Program: Teacher Program

“Putting the ‘pH’un Back Into Chemistry:
 An Educator Program for Advancing K-12 Chemical Education”

Most sessions will be held on Saturday, November 4th beginning at 8am at the Marriott Hotel & Suites. There is one session on Friday, November 3rd beginning at 1pm. Each session will be two hours long, with the exception of the POGIL workshop, which will last all day, and the Hydrogen Fuel Cell workshop, which will run for four hours. Hydrogen Fuel Cell Workshop for Teachers: Friday, 1:00 – 5:00 pm

POGIL: Saturday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm
Instructors: Eric Zuckerman and the POGIL Staff

Ocean Optics Instrumentation Showcase: Saturday, 8:00am - 10:00 am
Presenter: Monde T. Qhobosheane

Environmental Chemistry: Saturday, 8:00am - 10:00 am
Instructor: Dr. John Ferry

Vernier Laboratory Instrumentation: Saturday, 10:00am - 12:00 noon
Presenter: Vernier Software and Technology

Forensic Chemistry: Saturday, 10:00am - 12:00 noon
Instructor: Dr. William Brewer

Classroom Demonstrations: Saturday, 1:00pm - 3:00 pm
Instructor: Penney Sconzo

Educator/Student Programs Offered through SRS and ACS: Saturday, 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Presenters:  Barbara Smoak and LaTrease Garrison

Teachers: You can earn continuing education credits/renewal credits/PLUs for your attendance

Cost of registration: $25 (advance) and $45 (on-site)
This fee covers attendance at any and all portions of the conference including the Education Program on Saturday, and any technical programs offered Wednesday through Friday that a teacher may wish to attend.

A Teacher’s Luncheon will be held at 12:00 noon featuring Dr. Anne Hancock, the U.S. Secretary of Education's Regional Representative, as our guest speaker. The cost will be $10. Please don’t forget to sign up on your registration form, under Ticketed Events, for this luncheon.
