PMSE Preprints
*NEW FOR 2008: CHANGES TO PROCEDURES FOR INSTITUTIONAL ORDERS, BACK ISSUE ORDERS, AND SINGLE PREPRINT ORDERS **
**Important correction regarding Fall 2006 (Vol. 95) Preprints**
PMSE Preprints are published twice yearly, approximately one month before the Spring and Fall national ACS meetings. Each volume is published in CD-ROM format and contains one-to-three page preprints of all presentations* to be given in PMSE symposia at the meeting. PMSE presentation abstracts are not part of the PMSE Preprints CD, but are included in the ACS Meeting Abstracts CD which contains abstracts for all papers given at the meeting (available through ACS).
*Some invited papers given in awards symposia may not be included.
Subscription Information for PMSE Members / Individuals
All PMSE members receive a subscription to PMSE Preprints as part of their dues, which represents a significant discount from regular subscription prices. PMSE memberships and subscriptions are on a calendar year basis. Members joining for a given calendar year are entitled to receive both issues for that calendar year, regardless of the start date of membership. Individuals who wish to subscribe to PMSE Preprints without joining PMSE may do so using the procedures and rates for libraries and institutions.
Ordering Information for Libraries, Institutions, and Businesses
Electronic web-based PMSE Preprints subscriptions are available to libraries, institutions, and businesses. To subscribe, please follow the "how to order" link on the ACS Division Proceedings Online website . Rates for 2007 were $400 USD for one site and $120 for each additional site. Click here for a short Proceedings Online brochure. Preprint orders in CD-ROM form now being handled exclusively through Curran Associates. The price is $90USD per volume (1 year = 2 volumes) which includes basic mailing fees worldwide. Online access is not included. Please place all orders directly through Curran Associates (57 Morehouse Lane, Red Hook, NY 12571; Ph (845) 758-0400, Fax (845) 758-2633; curran@proceedings.com ; www.proceedings.com ). PMSE no longer publishes PMSE Preprints in book form. However, institutional customers requiring print can purchase hard copies of current and back issues (vol. 86 Spring 2002 and later) from Curran Associates' print-on-demand service . These copies are made by printing the entire contents of the CD. Please contact Curran Associates directly to order.
Online Preprint Access for PMSE Members
Subscriptions for individual PMSE members include online access to PMSE Preprints via the ACS Preprint Server using your ACS membership number or PMSE affiliate / subscriber number. This number is printed at the top of your PMSE Preprints mailing label. Contact the PMSE Membership Chair if you need assistance determining your PMSE affiliate number. If you are having trouble accessing the online preprints, please contact ACS Membership Services (1-800-333-9511; service@acs.org ) to ensure that you are in the ACS database as a PMSE member /affiliate in good standing.
What if I Did Not Receive My PMSE Preprints CD?
Institutional and corporate customers missing issues should contact the agent through which the order was placed. If you are missing a CD that was ordered directly through the PMSE Preprints Subscription Manager (2004-2007 timeframe) for which you have already made payment, or have unsuccessfully tried to obtain a missing CD through the original subscription agent, please contact the PMSE Membership Chair and provide the order / payment / agent details. Unfulfilled unpaid orders placed through the PMSE Preprints Subscription Manager should be resubmitted through Curran Associates (see Ordering Information for Libraries & Institutions and Businesses).
PMSE Preprints mailing labels for individual members are generated using the main ACS member database Therefore, address changes and corrections for individual PMSE members must be made through ACS Membership Services (call 1-800-333-9511; email service@acs.org, or use their online address change form. Address changes and corrections for institutional customers must be made through the agent handling the orders.
Back Issue Publication Dates and ISBN / ISSN Numbers
The official publication date of PMSE Preprints is the earlier of: (1) the date that the preprints were delivered to the U.S. Postal Service for mailing; (2) the date that the preprints were made available through the ACS Preprint Server. Click here for a list of publication dates and ISBN / ISSN numbers for past volumes. Volumes of PMSE Preprints through vol. 85 (Fall 2001) were published in paper format. All issues beginning with vol. 86 (Spring 2002) are published in CD / web format only.
Back issues of CD volumes (vol. 86 Spring 2002 and later) are available from Curran Associates for $90 USD each. (see Ordering Information for Libraries & Institutions and Businesses). Back issues in paper form of vol. 86 and later can be ordered through Curran Associates' print-on-demand service (see Ordering Information for Libraries, Institutions, and Businesses). Back issues of paper volumes (vol. 85 Fall 2001 and earlier) can be ordered through Elsevier. How to Order Copies of Single Preprints
PMSE is no longer directly handling single preprint orders. Single preprints can be obtained through article ordering services such as Information Express, Phone:(650) 812-3588; service@ieonline.com; www.ieonline.com.
Submissions to PMSE Preprints are made using the ACS OASYS system. For detailed information, see our Author Instructions and Preprint FAQs. Preprints should be prepared using the PMSE Preprint Template .
Important correction regarding Fall 2006 (vol. 95) Preprints
The CD version of the Fall 2006 San Francisco PMSE Preprints (San Francisco meeting) contains an error. Although the correct volume number is given on the cover, the individual electronic PDF preprint footers incorrectly show the volume number as Vol. 51. All PMSE members were mailed an explanatory letter in October 2006 along with a sticker to affix to the CD case. Institutional subscribers were mailed corrected versions of the CD. If you are a library subscriber and would like to request a replacement Vol. 95 CD, or are a member needing a correction sticker, please contact the PMSE Membership Chair. Corrected CDs and CD cases are identifiable by the phrase "revised with correct volume number" and bear a 13-digit ISBN number in addition to a 10-digit ISBN number. This error does not affect the online version of the Preprints.
