PMSE Preprint Templates

PMSE Preprints templates are available for download here. Please identify your computer and word processor and download a template accordingly. The Mac based templates tend to give errors during the preprint submission process. Therefore, use of the PC based templates are strongly encouraged.

Step-by-Step Guide for Authors

  1. Find a symposium that interests you in PMSE Future Program .
  2. Submit an abstract through ACS OASYS . Record your abstract ID number and password.
  3. Download a PMSE Preprint template . Since Mac based templates tend to give errors during the preprint submission process, use of PC based templates are strongly encouraged. If you have to use Mac based templates, Word 98 and higher is required. Word 5.x and 6.x for Macintosh are no longer supported.
  4. Prepare a PMSE Preprint manuscript using an official PMSE Preprint template .
  5. Submit your preprint by going to ACS OASYS , clicking on the "View/Modify/Withdraw Abstract or Preprint" link at the top of the page, and then logging in with the abstract number and password for your abstract. Once you login and see your paper title, etc., click the "PREPRINT" link on the left-hand side of your screen to submit the preprint. You must submit your preprint manuscript under the same ID number and password given to you when you submitted your abstract. If you submitted multiple papers, please make sure the ID number matches your manuscript.
  6. It is crucial that you correctly identify your operating system and word processing software, including version, when you submit your preprint. If you have this incorrect, the submission will not be successful.
  7. Files up to 25MB are accepted via the preprint server. If your file is over 25MB in size, you should contact the preprint help desk for assistance. Files over 25 MB require a manual uploading process.
  8. Your PMSE preprint manuscript will be converted into a PDF file.
  9. To be sure your preprint was submitted, be sure to view your PMSE preprint online (in PDF format) at ACS OASYS . You need the ID number and the password to view your preprint. Since it may take some time for the preprint to be available for viewing, you may need to log back in later to view it. Follow the instructions in Step 5 above, and then click on the link for the preprint version you want to see. You must have the free Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer to view the preprint. The Reader is available for download from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/main.html .
  10. If necessary, revise and re-submit your PMSE Preprint manuscript again through ACS OASYS . Authors are permitted to submit unlimited versions, however, only the last 3 revisions are accessible for viewing.
  11. You will be notified by ACS and/or the symposium organizer whether your paper has been accepted and the presentation type, time and location if accepted.
  12. Prepare your talk or poster.
  13. Plan to attend the PMSE symposium at ACS National Meeting

Note to Symposium Organizers: Symposium organizers will be able to view the preprint PDF files after preprint submission close date. Upon approval by the organizers, the preprint PDF files will be forwarded to the preprint editors for final acceptance.
