PMSE 2008 Spring Meeting Preface

The 235th National Meeting of the American Chemical Society will be held in New Orleans Louisiana April 6-10 of 2008. To borrow an analogy from a once popular song, "the train they call the city of New Orleans" is getting back on track, as evidenced by the return of the St. Charles streetcars and the (slow) rebuilding of the city and it environs following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. I encourage you to experience the historic culture and current revitalization of this proud city.

For those PMSE members unable to attend the meeting this collection of Preprints contained on this CD will allow you to keep up to date on all of the latest happenings. Think of this as a virtual meeting delivered directly to your computer.

At the Spring meeting we will have a very full program with over 500 papers and a number of exciting symposia. Of particular note will be the ACS Award in Applied Polymer Science and the symposium to honor Anne Hiltner, as well as the Cooperative Research Award and the symposium to honor Stephen F. Hahn, Dennis A. Hucul, Frank S. Bates, Glenn H. Fredrickson and Edward K. Kramer.
