The New Haven Connecticut Section

Welcome to the New Haven Local Section of the American Chemical Society website. We are glad that you are using the web to obtain information about our Section. We are located in New Haven County, one of the eight counties in Connecticut. We promote public awareness of chemistry by being involved in outreach programs in our community and work with students to encourage an interest in the chemical science arena. The Section was chartered as the New Haven Section in 1912. Currently we are classified as a Medium-Large Section with over 1100 members, divided evenly between academics and industry. Some 40% of our members hold Ph.D.'s, 20% have masters and 30% bachelors degrees.
