The goal of the North Carolina local section younger chemists' committee is to bring area younger chemists' together socially and professionally. A younger chemist is a person who is not established in their careers. The criterion for being a member of this group is not age but experience. All ACS members are welcome to participate.

As a group, we are committed to the following goals:

• To make the ACS relevant to younger chemists
• Increase the involvement of younger chemists in the ACS at all levels.
• Develop mechanisms to integrate younger chemists into the profession
