Reminders for Volunteers
- Anticipate traffic and parking delays on
weekends and evenings, but there are no sporting events scheduled
during the fair.
- Parking is free in all fairgrounds lots.
Details about parking are not complete yet. More will follow when
we know more, but it will not likely be in the usual
location.
- The booth is inside the NC Green tent
near entrance gate 11 off of Blue Ridge Rd. near the Vet
School.
- Wear comfortable shoes, jeans or other
comfortable pants and the State Fair shirt, which we will
provide.
- Safety is paramount. Make sure people
viewing demonstrations stand 1 foot back from the demonstration
table. If the demonstration involves only water, cereal or the
butterflies, you do not need to wear goggles. For all else, wear
goggles.
- You are representing the American
Chemical Society. For any question they might have, you may direct
them to the website or one of the subcommittee members.
- There are wallet-sized periodic tables
with the url of the NC ACS website. Distribute these freely up to
about 600/day distributed evening through out the day.
