Article Submissions

Please submit all articles to the editor.

General guidelines for article length include:

Chair column: 1.5 to 2 pages (530 to 700 words)
Feature article: 2 to 4 pages w/photos (1200 words or less)
Announcements: 0.5 to 1.5 pages (530 words or less)

Electronic format is preferred; however, we would be happy to work with you if electronic format is not possible. Please forward electronic articles to the editor in one of the following ways:

• Send the document file as an attachment to an e-mail note.
• Files larger than 0.5 MB should be sent by disk. In the accompanying note, please state what word processor and platform was used to create the document.
• Send the text inserted in an e-mail note.
• Send the document file on a diskette to Ann at Editech, 1801 W Manitou Trail, Midland, MI 48640. Floppy disks (PC format), ZIP disks, and CDs are acceptable.

Photo Submissions

We prefer to work with digital photos, 300 dpi, if possible. Some tips:

• Whenever possible, identify the photographer, the date, the event, the location, and as many people in the photo as possible. If you are sending a print, please do not write on the back of the photo. Use a separate piece of paper or a Post-It note.
• Try to avoid imprinting the date on the finished photo.
• Strive for good color and clear contrast. As much as possible, show people doing something and try to show their faces.
• We can take electronic graphic files such as TIF, JPG, and BMP. Please do not embed graphics in a word processing document. Send them as separate files.
