Researchers Announcement
Often individuals with disabilities incur additional travel and lodging expenses when attending scientific meetings. These additional costs can range from taxi fares for those for whom public transit is impractical or unsafe to the cost of a personal assistant for a quadriplegic. The Chemists with Disabilities (CWD) committee is pleased to announce the availability of Travel Awards of up to $2,500 to defray some or all of this additional cost and give individuals with disabilities a level playing field when raising travel funds. The primary goal of the program is to promote presentation of scientific research by individuals with disabilities and provide motivated students with opportunities to build lasting professional relationships through networking. The committee also recognizes the potential networking opportunities for non-presenters attending meetings. Therefore, as funding permits, grants are also awarded for individuals wishing to attend, but not present at, a scientific meeting. To be eligible the candidate must:
