Chemist – Synthetic Organic

Description:

Currently, there is an opening for an experienced Synthetic Organic Chemist in our Process Chemistry Group based in the Cambridge laboratory. The group is responsible for process research and development and scale-up of drug candidates and also provision of synthetic intermediates to support our discovery chemistry activities based in France. The work requires use of a wide range of synthetic methods on gram to kilogram scale.

The successful candidate will have an B.S. or M.S. PhD degree in chemistry and a minimum of two years experience in the process research / scale-up function of a pharmaceutical or specialty chemistry company. He or she will need to demonstrate good knowledge of organic chemistry and modern analytical techniques and will be experienced in the use of large-scale laboratory equipment. Experience in the chemistry of nucleosides, carbohydrates and heterocycles may be advantageous.
