The Marvin J. Johnson Award in Microbial
and Biochemical Technology
The Marvin J. Johnson Award in Microbial and Biochemical
Technology, to recognize outstanding research contributions
to microbial and biochemical technology.
The Award is presented by the Division of Biochemical Technology
at the Spring meeting of the American Chemical Society.
The recipient's travel expenses to the meeting are provided.
An address by the recipient on his/her research is part
of the Award Ceremony. The Award was established in 1978
and is currently sponsored by Pfizer.

W.H. Peterson Award for Best Student
Presentations
The W.H. Peterson Award is granted annually for the best
oral presentation by a student and the best poster by a
student in Biochemical Technology Division-sponsored sessions
at the ACS National Meeting (usually in the Spring). The
Awardees receive a cash award as well as a plaque to commemorate
the award. Additionally, each of the Awardees will receive
up to a $250 catalog credit from Gibco Cell Culture - Invitrogen
for their research groups. The Division of Biochemical Technology
is pleased to have Gibco Cell Culture - Invitrogen as a
continuing financial sponsor of the award.
Students must apply for the award by returning the completed
the Peterson Award Application Form to the award coordinators.
Advisors, please encourage your students to apply for the
award.

The David Perlman Memorial Lectureship, which honors the
many contributions of the late Professor Perlman. The Perlman

Alan S. Michaels
Award in the Recovery of Biological Products
BIOT inaugurated this award in 2006, recognize outstanding
research and practice contributions toward the advancement
of science and technology for the recovery of biological
products. Information

Investigator Award
The Division of Biochemical Technology Young Investigator
Award is intended to recognize an outstanding young contributor
to the field of biochemical technology and an active participant
